CEO, Co-Founder at Fastcase

Ed Walters is the CEO and co-founder of Fastcase, a legal research software company. Ed has been working in the legal field for over 20 years and has held various positions at different companies.

Ed started their legal career as a clerk for Judge Emilio M. Garza on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Ed then worked as an attorney at the law firm of Covington & Burling, where they advised clients such as Microsoft, the NFL, and Merck. In 2013, Ed joined the board of directors of Salsa Labs, Inc., a software company that provides tools for online fundraising and advocacy. Ed served on the board until 2016.

In 1999, Ed co-founded Fastcase, a legal research software company that provides access to court opinions and statutes. Ed has served as CEO of the company since its inception. Under their leadership, Fastcase has become one of the largest online legal research providers in the United States.

Ed is a graduate of Georgetown University Law Center and Cornell Tech.

After graduating from Georgetown University with a degree in government and philosophy, Ed Walters attended the University of Chicago Law School, where they earned their J.D.
