Chris Fallin has an extensive work experience in the tech industry. Starting in 2007, they worked as a Co-op Undergraduate at Cypress Semiconductor for the summers of 2007 and 2008. Chris then joined Intel Corporation in 2010 as a Graduate Technical Intern before becoming a Graduate Intern Technical in 2012, working on next-gen core microarchitecture features. From 2013 to 2014, Chris worked as a Silicon Architecture Engineer at Intel Corporation.
In 2014, Chris joined Google as a Software Engineer, where they focused on improving performance and developing new language implementations for Google Cloud Platform projects. Chris then moved to Carnegie Mellon University in 2015 as a PhD Student, specializing in ECE. During their time at CMU, they developed static and dynamic analyses for auto-parallelization and pointer aliasing.
In 2019, Chris transitioned to Mozilla as a Senior Compiler Engineer, working on compiler projects. Chris later joined Fastly in 2020, initially as a Staff Software Engineer before being promoted to Principal Software Engineer in April 2022.
Throughout their career, Chris has demonstrated expertise in software engineering, compiler development, and microarchitecture.
Chris Fallin received their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Notre Dame in 2009. Chris then pursued further education at Carnegie Mellon University, where they obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering in 2013. Chris continued their academic journey at Carnegie Mellon University and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering in 2019.
