Senior Network Engineer at Fastly

John Fraizer's work experience begins in 2005 as a Senior Engineer at The Battelle Memorial Institute, where they contributed to the development of the Magnus Blood Analyzer. John then joined NuVox Communications in 2006 as a Senior Internetworking Engineer, providing escalated network engineering support for their expanding network.

In 2009, John moved to LinkSat, Inc as a Senior Network Engineer, where they oversaw IP network design and troubleshooting for both LinkSat and its clients. John also played a key role in the design and implementation of satellite routers.

John joined Netriplex in 2011 as the Director of Global Network Operations, responsible for managing and expanding their global network infrastructure and facilitating network-based products and services. John then transitioned back to LinkSat as the Chief Network Engineer, managing engineering teams and assisting customers with product deployment.

In 2015, John joined eBay as a Member of Technical Staff II in both the Global Network Architecture and Site Network Engineering groups. John provided network design and implementation, acted as a technical escalation point, and mentored other staff members.

From 2016 to 2018, John worked at Facebook as a Network Engineer, where they led disaster recovery initiatives and implemented Python 2.7 to Python 3 conversion for the network infrastructure.

From 2018 to 2020, John worked at Cumulus Networks as a senior member of Global Support Services, leveraging their industry experience to analyze support bundles and contribute to DoD and Government engagements.

Most recently, John joined Fastly in 2020 as a Senior Network Engineer.

John Fraizer completed their education at the Marine Corps Communications & Electronics Schools in 1989, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Communications, Electronics, and Crypto.

In addition to their formal education, John also obtained several certifications throughout their career. These include LSCIE - LinkSat Certified Internetworking Expert from LinkSat in March 2012, Powered Industrial Truck Certification (Forklift) from OSHA in November 2010, Fortinet Certified Network Security Associate from Fortinet in September 2006, and Certified Computer Technician, Certified Master Internet Security Specialist, Certified Master Network Technician, Certified Master TCP/IP Administrator, and Certified Red Hat Administrator from Brainbench in July 2000. Furthermore, they obtained an A+ certification from CompTIA in November 1996 and a General Class Amateur Radio Operator's License from the Federal Communications Commission in January 1989.
