Staff Software Engineer at Fastly

Matthew Tamayo has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries.

In 2004, they started their career as an Electro-optics Engineering Intern at DCS Corp. Matthew then worked as a Software Engineering Intern at Raytheon in 2007.

Later that year, Matthew joined Microsoft as a Program Manager, where they worked until 2012.

In 2012, they transitioned to Palantir Technologies as a Forward Deployed Software Development Engineer, focusing on high availability web authentication systems, distributed auditing, web-based field information reports, and real-time information systems. Matthew stayed with Palantir Technologies until 2014.

Matthew then co-founded Kryptnostic, where they served as the Founder & CEO from 2014 to 2017.

From 2017 to 2022, they founded and led OpenLattice as the Founder & CEO.

Currently, Matthew is working as a Staff Engineer at Fastly, joining in 2022.

Matthew Tamayo completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where they studied from 2003 to 2007. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of Washington, where they studied from 2011 to 2017.
