Sr. Software Engineer at Fastly

Sima Lotfi began their work experience in 2006 as an Undergraduate RA at Sharif University of Technology, where they worked on symbiotic evolutionary algorithms and their applications in Classifier Generation. Sima then worked as a Software Developer at Farabi Hospital in 2008. From 2009 to 2010, they served as a Graduate Research Assistant at Bazhenov Research Group, where they developed a Neural Network capable of learning and recognizing patterns.

In 2010, Sima joined Open Solutions Group Inc. for an internship. Sima then worked at ESRI as a Product Engineer, where they designed and developed an internal GSI publishing website and implemented ESRI help center website using various technologies. Sima also worked at WD, a Western Digital company, as a Research Software Engineer from 2012 to 2016. During this time, they developed a web app for internal marketing and product teams, as well as the next generation of NVMe SSD firmware and test suites.

In 2016, Sima joined Quick Bridge Funding as a Software Development Engineer. Sima then worked as a Software Engineer at Survey.com from 2017 to 2019. During this time, they gained experience in developing web applications using various technologies. In 2019, they became a Software Engineer at NEXT Trucking, where they designed and developed multiple microservices and web apps for internal and external clients.

Currently, Sima is working at Fastly as a Senior Software Engineer. Sima'sresponsibilities include designing, developing, testing, and delivering a unified config delivery service called Fetchly to ensure reliable and fast customer data delivery on the Fastly Content Delivery Network (CDN). Additionally, they previously worked on a security service to monitor and evaluate web app traffic at Fastly.

Sima Lotfi completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Information Technology Engineering from Sharif University of Technology, from 2004 to 2008. After that, they pursued their Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of California, Riverside, from 2008 to 2010.
