D. Jon Jelley has a strong background in youth care and law enforcement. From 1995 to 2001, they worked as a Police Constable for Hampshire Constabulary. D. Jon then transitioned into the field of youth care, starting as a Family Teacher at Boys Town in 2001. Over the years, they held various positions at Boys Town, including Family Home Consultant, Program Manager, Program Operations Manager, and Executive Director of an affiliate site. In 2019, they became the Vice President of Site Operations at Boys Town. Currently, they serve as a Board Member for the Association of Children's Residential & Community.
D. Jon Jelley completed their high school education at Bohunt Comprehensive from 1982 to 1987, earning a High School/Secondary Diploma or Certificate. They then attended crewe and Alsager College of Higher Education from 1989 to 1991, where they obtained an Associate's Degree in Business and Finance. Later in their educational journey, from 2002 to 2005, D. Jon Jelley pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice at Bellevue University. Finally, they completed a Master of Science degree in Youth and Family Services at Bellevue University from 2006 to 2008.
