Jean-Daniel Cryans

Jean-Daniel Cryans has over 15 years of work experience in software engineering and database engineering. In 2021, they began their current role as Head of Database Engineering at Fauna Inc. Previously, they were a HBase committer and PMC member at the Apache Software Foundation from 2008 to 2012. During this time, they also held roles at Cloudera as Director Of Engineering, Senior Engineering Manager, Engineering Manager, and Software Engineer. In 2009, they were a Database Engineer at StumbleUpon and in 2008, they were a HBase Consultant at openplaces. From 2006 to 2005, they were a Software Developer at Cyberlogic and a Programmer at the Régie de l'assurance maladie du Québec.

Jean-Daniel Cryans has a background in software engineering. Jean-Daniel began their education in 2002 at Cégep de Thetford, where they obtained a DEC in Computer. Jean-Daniel then attended École de technologie supérieure from 2005 to 2009, where they earned a B.Eng in Software Engineering. In 2009, they returned to École de technologie supérieure to pursue a Master in Software Engineering, which they completed in 2011. Jean-Daniel is currently enrolled in a M. Eng in Software Engineering at the same institution.
