Kristian Erik Edqvist

Kristian Erik Edqvist is a seasoned professional in the field of security and corrections, currently serving as a Security Sector Reform (SSR) Advisor and Methodology and Training specialist at Folke Bernadotteakademin since January 2023. With extensive editorial experience as the Editor-in-Chief at Editions Aster since December 2016, Kristian has also held significant roles in training management and conflict prevention at the European Security and Defence College from February 2020 to February 2023. Prior to this, Kristian worked at FBA as a Desk Officer, where responsibilities included planning pre-deployment training for various international missions, and held a Desk Officer position at Kriminalvården focusing on international affairs. Notably, Kristian served as a Corrections Mentor for the United Nations in Liberia and brings a robust background in corrections, having overseen operations at Sweden’s largest high-security remand prison. Kristian holds a Kandidatexamen in Criminology from Stockholm University.
