Malek Shafei

Malek Shafei is a data analysis expert currently serving as the Head of Data Analysis for both Louisville City FC and Racing Louisville FC since November 2023. In this position, Malek Shafei has developed automated match and recruitment report templates, created metrics to analyze footballing trends, and implemented systems to track club KPIs. Previously, Malek Shafei held the role of Head of Data Recruitment at FC Midtjylland, overseeing data scouting for first teams and academies. A former Data Scientist Intern at src | ftbl, Malek Shafei utilized machine learning to assess playing style differences and predict transfer success. As the Founder and Editor-in-chief of AfricanFtbl, Malek Shafei established the first pan-African longform football publication. Malek Shafei is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Statistics and Machine Learning at Carnegie Mellon University.
