Abdul Nyoka

Abdul Nyoka has a diverse work experience in the field of security and technology. Abdul began their career as a Web Developer at Expertype Secretary Bureau in 2001. Abdul then worked as a Web Developer at Visual LAB Inc from 2002 to 2004, and subsequently as a Web Developer at CESAISOFT (T) LTD from 2006 to 2007.

In 2007, Abdul joined Barclays Bank Tanzania as an Information Security Manager, where they were responsible for implementing and maintaining information security policies and performing regular penetration testing. Abdul worked in this role until 2009.

Abdul then worked as an Information Security Consultant at InfoAssurax from 2010 to 2011, where they focused on risk assessment exercises and ensuring IT systems were properly protected. Abdul moved on to NMB PLC in 2011, where they served as an Information Security Manager. At NMB PLC, they managed the bank's information security management system and led security assessments for core banking systems.

From 2012 to 2018, Abdul worked as a Senior Security Consultant at NCC Group, providing advisory services in various industries such as payment card industry, banking, and energy. Abdul then joined NTT Ltd. as a Principal Security Consultant from 2019 to 2021, specializing in security for digital transformation projects.

Abdul's next role was as a Practice Leader at NTT Ltd., where they led the Governance, Risk, and Compliance division and provided security review engagements. Abdul worked in this position until 2022.

From 2022 to 2023, Abdul was the Enterprise Security Architecture Consulting Leader at Cyderes, a cybersecurity company. Abdul provided comprehensive security solutions and was involved in managing risk and responding to security threats.

Currently, Abdul works at Featurespace as the Principal - Security Architecture & Compliance, leading efforts in financial crime prevention using adaptive behavioral analytics and real-time machine learning software.

Overall, Abdul Nyoka has demonstrated a strong background in security architecture, compliance, and risk management throughout their career.

Abdul Nyoka completed their education with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) degree in Information and Communication Technology Management (ICTM) from Mzumbe University in 2007. Abdul then pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc) degree in Information Security Management from The University of Salford in 2010. Aside from their formal education, Abdul Nyoka has obtained various certifications, including the Microsoft Fundamental AI Concepts, Open FAIR (Factor Analysis of Information Risk) Foundation, FAIR Analysis Fundamentals, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, DevSecOps: Building a Secure Continuous Delivery Pipeline, SWIFT Customer Security Controls Framework v2022, and ICAgile Foundations of DevOps (ICP-FDO) certifications, among others.
