Lori Ehrlich

Region 1 Administrator at FEMA

Ms. Lori A. Ehrlich was sworn in as the Federal Emergency Management Agency Region I Regional Administrator on January 31, 2022.

Ms. Ehrlich was born in Lynn, Massachusetts and raised in Marblehead, Massachusetts. She is a graduate of Lehigh University, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting. She later earned a master’s degree in Public Administration from Harvard's Kennedy School of Government. While at Harvard, Ms. Ehrlich served as president of the Kennedy School's Energy Caucus. She worked as a Certified Public Accountant before managing her own CPA practice for over 20 years.

In March of 2008 Ms. Ehrlich won a special election as the State Representative for the Massachusetts 8th Essex District. In November 2008 she won re-election and served in the Massachusetts House of Representatives until January 2022. She was the Chairwoman of the Joint Committee on Export Development.

From 2005-2009 she served as President of The Environmental Integrity Project, a Washington, DC based project of Rockefeller Family Fund. Ehrlich also co-founded two non-profit environmental and energy organizations: Healthlink, Inc. and the Wenham Lake Watershed Association. As a co-founder of Wenham Lake Watershed Association, she brokered the successful corporate cleanup of a major drinking water source for 80,000 residents on the North Shore of Boston.

Ms. Ehrlich resides in Marblehead with her family and has lived in both Swampscott and Lynn over the course of her life.
