Tim Kovacs

Tim Kovacs has extensive experience in emergency response and search and rescue operations, currently serving at the Phoenix Fire Department as a Special Ops/Homeland Defense professional since 1999. Kovacs is a subject matter expert and Chair of the FEMA NIMS Search and Rescue Working Group, providing leadership in resource typing and credentialing. As a co-founder and Commander of the Honor Guard and Pipes & Drums for the Mountain Rescue Association, Kovacs manages tributes for fallen responders across the U.S. and Canada. Additionally, Kovacs has held various leadership roles within multiple organizations, including the National Fire Protection Association and the Professional Fire Fighters of Arizona. Education includes an Associate degree in Police Science from Phoenix College and further studies at Arizona State University.
