Sean Maddex

Sean Maddex is an experienced Energy Industry Analyst at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission since October 2019, specializing in testifying on rate cases for oil, natural gas, and electric proceedings, as well as building models for analyzing pipeline throughput and constructing rate models. Prior experience includes serving as a Research Assistant at the Nicholas Institute for Environmental Policy Solutions, where research focused on renewable energy policies and electric vehicles, and as Executive Editor for the Duke Environmental Law and Policy Forum, overseeing article content and citation reviews. Additional roles include Advocacy Intern at Environment North Carolina, where media and advocacy campaigns were coordinated, and internships at the California State Senate and the California State Board of Equalization, involving policy analysis and public outreach. Sean's academic background includes a Master of Environmental Management from Duke University and a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies from Soka University of America.
