Rebecca Aitchison

Rebecca Aitchison, Esq is an experienced legal professional currently serving as an Assistant Federal Public Defender since May 2019. Prior to this role, Aitchison worked as an Assistant Public Defender at the Rhode Island Public Defender from January 2012 to May 2019, and also gained experience as a Rule 9 Extern at the same office in 2011, focusing on misdemeanor cases in Pre-Trial and Trial Divisions. Aitchison's early career included a position as a Law Clerk at LaPlante Sowa Goldman, conducting legal research and drafting documents for civil litigation, as well as serving as an Appellate Clerk for the Rhode Island Public Defender, where Aitchison engaged in legal research for criminal appellate cases. Aitchison holds a Juris Doctorate from Roger Williams University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Wheaton College Massachusetts.
