Mallika Thomas serves as an Institute Research Economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis since February 2022, having previously held roles as a Senior Economist and Visiting Scholar. Prior experiences include serving as a Rubenstein Fellow at The Brookings Institution and as an Assistant Professor of Economics at Cornell University. Mallika also contributed to academic research at Princeton University and held various positions at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, Innovations for Poverty Action, Harvard University, and the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. Educationally, Mallika holds a Ph.D. and an MA in Economics from the University of Chicago and dual undergraduate degrees in Physics and Economics from Yale University.
