William Riley

SVP & Head, FedCash Services Currency Technology & Support at Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond

Bill Riley is senior vice president and head of FedCash Services Currency Technology & Support on behalf of Federal Reserve Financial Services. He joined the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond in 2017.

In this role, he leads Cash operations technology and support, as well as the Next Generation (NextGen) high-speed currency processing program, supporting the Cash processing operations of the Federal Reserve Banks in collaboration with the Federal Reserve Board of Governors, U.S. Bureau of Engraving and Printing, and the U.S. Secret Service.

Riley has more than 35 years of experience in information technology, information security and overseeing large complex programs. In 1997, Riley joined the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, providing IT support to both Cash and cybersecurity operations. He joined the Cash Product Office in 2006, where he oversaw the development and implementation of the Federal Reserve’s Cash applications.
