Michael T. Kiley is the Deputy Director at the Federal Reserve. Michael has over 15 years of experience in the financial industry, with a focus on compliance and risk management.

Prior to their current role, Kiley served as an Audit Manager at Wells Fargo, responsible for annual Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) assessment work. In this role, they led a team of auditors and served as a liaison to audit teams to ensure timely, high quality completion of ERM assessment work. Michael also supported the Executive Audit Director and leadership team by coordinating reporting and audit plan monitoring.

Before Wells Fargo, Kiley spent 10 years at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, where they served as a Business Analyst IV and led the Compliance Team. In this role, they provided work direction to three business analysts supporting information security policy, records management, contingency, audit, change management, data privacy, and other compliance related programs and tasks. Michael also monitored the security posture of two information systems and ensured the availability, integrity, and confidentiality of information for both systems by implementing and monitoring compliance with federal information security requirements as the Information Site Security Officer (ISSO). In addition, Kiley consulted with management and staff at FRB Minneapolis and Department of the Treasury on compliance related topics including operational changes, policy changes, incidents, and exception situations. Michael also led a project track for a major project to expand functionality of customer relationship management tool.

During their time at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, Kiley established a department compliance program for a department encompassing complex operational activities and associated regulations, requirements, and guidelines. Michael also coordinated two major audits, including audit preparation, which resulted in no findings. When they assumed the role of ISSO with little notice, they successfully completed required annual audits with minimal findings.

Kiley’s experience in compliance and risk management make him well-suited for their current role as Deputy Director at the Federal Reserve.

Michael T. Kiley earned their MBA in Strategic Management from the University of Minnesota - Carlson School of Management. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and French from Valparaiso University. Michael has also completed coursework in Leadership at Harvard Business School Executive Education.
