Yvette R. Seger, PhD, serves as the Director of Strategic Scientific Program Advancement, Director of Science Policy, and Deputy Director of Public Affairs at FASEB since March 2013, where Yvette initiates and directs science policy initiatives, implements diversity and inclusion strategies, and coordinates the Science Policy team. Prior experience includes roles as a Senior Scientific Analyst at Discovery Logic, a Senior Health Policy Analyst at the National Institutes of Health, and a Research Associate at FasterCures. Yvette began a career in scientific research as a PhD student at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, supported by a fellowship focused on breast cancer research. An educational background includes a PhD in Genetics from Stony Brook University and a BA in Zoology and Politics & Government from Ohio Wesleyan University.

Founded in 1912, the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology (FASEB) was originally created by three independent scientific organizations to provide a forum in which to hold educational meetings, develop publications, and disseminate biological research results. What started as a small group of dedicated scientists has grown to be the nation’s largest coalition of biomedical researchers, representing 26 scientific societies and over 110,000 researchers from around the world.
