Staff Software Engineer, Backend (blr)

What you'll do:

• Own key parts of the backend architecture for consumer-facing and B2B surfaces
• Advocate for, drive consensus, and execute on developer productivity improvements on the backend
• Develop standards and frameworks to make the correct decision the easy decision for backend developers
• Personally write and maintain code hands-on keyboard
• Develop integrations with major e-commerce backends like Shopify, Salesforce Commerce, Magento, and CommerceTools
• Develop integrations with other e-commerce service providers like Klaviyo.
• Maintain a stable, consistent, and scalable API surface for internal consumption, spanning multiple source e-commerce backends
• Debug errors and deploy solutions quickly
• Mentor other engineers on the team
• Review technical specs

What you are:

• 10+ years of experience building software products

• Experienced with Golang (Required)

• Has spent time at a startup company (< 100 people)

• Has worked for or built integrations with e-commerce companies such as:

  • Shopify
  • Salesforce Commerce
  • Magento
  • CommerceTools
  • Klaviyo

• Have architected API for internal and external consumption

• Able to discuss and debate strategic engineering / product decisions

• Track record of building products that scale, are error tolerant, and easy to debug

• Opinionated and correct about which technologies to use, when, and why

• Familiar with synchronous and asynchronous programing as well as monitoring and testing

• Highly driven to build features and improvements in a secure, well-tested, and performant way

• BONUS: Experienced in working with systems like Redis, Kafka, Elasticsearch, Logstash and Airflow
