We've raised $30M+ to date and are backed by Bain Capital Ventures, Greylock, and QED. Located in SF, NYC, Austin, and Bangalore, we're looking to expand our 35+ person team to build the future of eCommerce!

What you'll do:

  • Own the data platform at Fermat that powers many customer facing and internal dashboards
  • Build OLAP stack and data pipelines to support our reporting products
  • Influence architecture, technology selections, and trends of the whole company
  • Build and grow your engineering skills in different challenging areas and solve hard technical problems
  • Lead mission-critical projects and deliver data ingestions capabilities end-to-end with high quality
  • Collaborate closely with Customer Success, Product Management and Data Science functions
  • Handle customer escalations
  • Mentor other engineers on the team
  • Review technical specs

Who you are:

  • 10+ years of experience building software products
  • Architected data platforms in the past
  • Expertise in writing complete data transforms in SQL and other languages
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts around building custom ETL integrations, and building data infrastructure (snapshots, indexing, partitioning etc)
  • Excellent at cross-functional collaboration, able to articulate technical concepts to non-technical partners.
  • Has spent time at a startup company (< 100 people)
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Able to discuss and debate strategic engineering / product decisions
  • Track record of building products that scale, are error tolerant, and easy to debug
  • Opinionated and correct about which technologies to use, when, and why
  • Highly driven to build features and improvements in a secure, well-tested, and performant way
  • You thrive in a product-focused environment and are passionate about making an impact on customer experience
