Summary:

Our Talent Acquisition Specialist will support the organization by delivering great talent to our managers before they request it.  Anticipation and upfront work will make you successful.  In this labor market, a “post and pray”, old school approach, won’t get the results we need.  Are you driven to dig in and find great people?  Are you willing to spend hours on the phone to find that perfect candidate?  Do you feel fulfilled when a manager says “our new hire is awesome”?  If so, you will love this role. In this role, you will spend 80% of your time recruiting for our critical field positions in the building trades and 20% staffing our office positions.  Previous experience in construction trades is a plus but your attitude and drive for results are equally important. The descriptions below are representative of, but not limited to, the expectations of this role.

Five Key Roles of the Talent Acquisition Specialist:

  • Building and maintaining strategic relationships with local candidate sources (unions, associations, trade schools, colleges, and universities), including managing job fairs and recruiting events.

  • Attraction of qualified candidates through branding and differentiating Fessler & Bowman from other employers in the market.

  • Proactively manage all aspects of sourcing, including candidate qualification, knowledge, and skills, and validate alignment with F&B’s Core Values.

  • Coordinate interview(s) with the hiring manager and ensure the development of appropriate interview guides to assess candidates’ knowledge, skills, and abilities. Collaborate with the hiring manager to complete candidate evaluation and selection.

  • Ensure all HR onboarding tasks and paperwork are complete and accurate prior to the new hires’ start date. Coordinate first-day details with the HR team and Hiring Manager.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with Regional HR Manager and HR Director on continuous process improvement and strategic projects within the human resources function

  • Building effective internal relationships with hiring managers

  • Forecasting needs of the business and communicating it to the HRBP/Regional HR Manager for budget approval and validation

  • Targeting competitors to source and attract passive qualified candidates

  • Update, monitor, and maintain the Applicant Tracking System by ensuring all data is up to date, candidates have been contacted and dispositioned accordingly, and the historical records are accurate for future review

  • Works collaboratively to manage social media presence and employer brand

  • Supports the Company’s commitment to EEO and Affirmative Action strategy and compliance

  • Develop written communications in Spanish, including job ads, new hire paperwork, policies, etc.

  • Communicating and upholding the Company’s commitment to Integrity and Code of Ethics, as well as ensuring the same for the entire team.

  • Other relevant tasks as assigned.

Education, Experience & Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or a related field preferred

  • 2+ years of HR or recruiting experience required

  • 1+ years experience in the construction industry preferred

  • Bilingual (Spanish-speaking) preferred

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

Travel:

Travel is required for recruiting purposes- this could include, but is not limited to, career fairs, union halls, job sites and regional offices. F&B will compensate for travel when applicable.

Work Environment:

As a Talent Acquisition Specialist, you will be subject to various work environments. These environments include office and field settings. Employee must be comfortable with sitting for an extended period.
