Ben Ying

Ben Ying has a diverse work experience with a strong background in software engineering and leadership roles. Ben is currently serving as the Vice President of Software Engineering at Fibernetics. Prior to this, they worked as a Professor at Conestoga College, where they taught Web Content Management Systems and Full-Stack Programming courses.

Ben also held the position of Head of Engineering at QuadFi, where they automated various financial processes and managed complex financial systems. Before that, they co-founded and served as the Technology Officer at Artificial Intelligence Mastermind Robotics, where they provided fleet management and automated drone flight planning services.

In addition, Ben has entrepreneurial experience as the Founder and CEO of SoftNinja, where they offered advisory services to SMB businesses globally. Before SoftNinja, they held managerial and scrum master roles at Senstar, overseeing software development and video analytics suites.

Overall, Ben Ying has a strong background in software engineering, leadership, teaching, and entrepreneurship, with extensive experience in automation, financial systems, and drone technologies.

Ben Ying earned a Master of Management Sciences degree in Management Science from the University of Waterloo, graduating in 2012. Prior to that, Ben completed a Bachelor of Computer Science degree in Computer Science at the same university, graduating in 2007. In addition to their formal education, Ben also holds various certifications, including "GETTING STARTED WITH AI ON JETSON NANO" and "GETTING STARTED WITH DEEPSTREAM FOR VIDEO ANALYTICS ON JETSON NANO" from NVIDIA, obtained in February 2020. Ben also has certifications from Coursera Course Certificates for courses such as "Sequences, Time Series and Prediction," "TensorFlow in Practice Specialization," "Natural Language Processing in TensorFlow," "Convolutional Neural Networks in TensorFlow," and "Introduction to TensorFlow for Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning," all obtained in 2019. Ben has also completed certifications from The Linux Foundation for "Blockchain for Business - An Introduction to Hyperledger Technologies" and "Blockchain: Understanding Its Uses and Implications" in 2018, as well as certifications from ConsenSys Academy for "Certified Ethereum Developer" and "Blockchain: Foundations and Use Cases" in the same year. Additionally, Ben has completed various deep learning and machine learning courses through Coursera, including the "Deep Learning Specialization," "Sequence Models," "Convolutional Neural Networks," "Improving Deep Neural Networks: Hyperparameter tuning, Regularization and Optimization," "Neural Networks and Deep Learning," and "Structuring Machine Learning Projects" courses, all obtained in 2018. Lastly, Ben acquired a certification as a Certified ScrumMaster® (CSM®) from Scrum Alliance® in April 2019.
