Jean Michel

Jean Michel is Chief Investment Officer, Public Markets. In this role, he leads all global public markets activities with a focus on the growth and evolution of Fiera Capital’s public markets investment platform, including equities, fixed income and liquid alternatives.

Jean joined Fiera in 2022 and has been working in the financial industry for more than 25 years. Prior to Fiera, Jean held the position of Chief Investment Officer at Investment Management Corporation of Ontario (IMCO) where he established the first investment strategies for the organization and put in place the investment teams in each asset class. Before IMCO, Jean held the position of Executive Vice President, Depositors and Total Portfolio, at the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, and prior to IMCO, he was President of Air Canada Pension Investments. Jean also spent over 12 years in the consulting industry, namely Mercer, where he held various advising positions for national and international clients.

Jean graduated from Université Laval with a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Actuarial Mathematics and a Master’s degree in Finance (MFin). He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
