Jia Charmane N. is a seasoned horticulturist currently employed at Filoli since June 2021, and previously held the position of Horticulture Summer Intern. Jia's research experience includes internships at the UCSF Bixby Center for Global Reproductive Health, focusing on women's genital fistula-related stigma, and a project aimed at developing a reintegration program for women recovering from obstetric fistula. Jia's professional background also includes roles as an Administrative Associate at Stanford University, a Nursing Station Technician at the University of Minnesota Medical Center, and a Patient Care Assistant at Regions Hospital. Early career involvement includes a position as a Research Program Specialist at the University of Minnesota and serving as the Training Director for Radio K - KUOM, where a new training curriculum was implemented. Jia holds an Associate's degree in Horticultural Science from Foothill College, a Master's degree in Public Health from UC Berkeley, and a Bachelor's degree in Biology, Society, and the Environment from the University of Minnesota.
