Sandra Garcia

Sandra Garcia, CPA has an extensive and diverse work experience. Starting in 1990 at Arthur Andersen LLP, they worked as an Experienced Manager, specializing in consulting engagements across healthcare, telecommunications, and manufacturing sectors. Sandra then joined UNAVCO, Inc. in 2003 as the Manager of Accounting, responsible for developing infrastructure processes and performing monthly closing tasks. In 2005, Sandra became the Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Administration at the Community College of Denver, overseeing various financial functions. Sandra continued their financial management roles as the Chief Financial Officer/Vice President of Finance/Treasurer at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science from 2006 to 2011. Afterward, they worked as the Worldwide Corporate Controller at Tempo Financial Holdings Corp, focusing on purchase accounting projects and revamping foreign exchange revenue recording processes. Sandra then moved on to OceansideTen Management, Inc. in 2016, where they served as the Controller responsible for finance and accounting functions across multiple companies. From 2019 to 2020, they worked as the Controller at FloWater before taking on the role of Chief Financial Officer at the Financial Planning Association in November 2020.

Sandra Garcia, CPA, obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and Information Systems from the University of Colorado Boulder between 1985 and 1989. In addition, they completed a corporate internship at INROADS Colorado, focusing on corporate experience from 1986 to 1989.
