Tom Wilson

Tom Wilson is a seasoned journalist and analyst with extensive experience in the energy and commodities sectors, currently serving as Senior Energy Correspondent at Financial Times since September 2024. Prior roles at Financial Times include acting as Natural Resources Editor, Energy Correspondent, World News Editor, and East Africa Bureau Chief. Previously, Tom worked at Bloomberg LP as a Reporter and Foreign Correspondent focused on Congo. Tom founded and directed the Intelligence & Analysis division at africapractice, managing political risk and intelligence projects across Africa, and served as Senior Africa Analyst at Control Risks. Tom holds a BA Honours in History from the University of Nottingham, earned in 2006.
