William Langley

South China Correspondent

William Langley currently serves as the South China Correspondent and breaking news reporter for the Financial Times since August 2021. Prior to this role, William worked as a freelance journalist from November 2016 to August 2021, contributing to reputable publications such as The Daily Telegraph and SCMP, while covering a diverse range of topics including social protests and fake news. William gained additional experience as an intern with NBC News and SCMP, and held positions as a translator for Sixth Tone and a research officer at My China Roots, where responsibilities included fieldwork and report writing. William earned a Master's degree in Journalism from The University of Hong Kong and a Bachelor's degree in Chinese Studies from the University of Oxford.
