Sophie Spickenbom

Sophie Spickenbom is currently serving as the GLOBED Community Manager, responsible for enhancing the program's social media presence and engaging with GLOBED alumni and students. Sophie is also pursuing a Master’s degree in Education Policies for Global Development at both the University of Glasgow and Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Additionally, Sophie is undertaking a research internship at the Globalisation, Education and Social Policies (GEPS) and Global and Comparative Studies in Education (GLANCE) research centers at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Sophie has previous experience as a Student Assistant at FinanzRitter, a Communication Assistant at Goethe-Institut e.V. in Kigali, and an intern at the Federal Foreign Office of Germany. Sophie's academic background includes a Bachelor's degree in International Studies focusing on Africa from Leiden University, complemented by a Minor in Cultural Anthropology and Development Sociology and participation in the Humanities Lab within the Honours Academy at Leiden University.
