Poet, Spare Change, Finalist For The Stafford/hall Award, Oregon Book Awards 2022 at Finishing Line Press

Irene Cooper is a versatile writer and educator with extensive experience in creative writing and editing. Currently serving as a novelist for Atmosphere Press and Vegetarian Alcoholic Press, Irene's works include the novel "FOUND" and the speculative spy-fy novel "COMMITTAL." As an instructor for the FORGE Creative Writing Program and facilitator for Blank Pages Writing Workshops, Irene guides aspiring writers in honing their craft. Irene's poetry collection "spare change" was recognized as a finalist for the Stafford/Hall award at the Oregon Book Awards in 2022. With a background in freelance writing and content creation, Irene has contributed engaging content to various industries, including senior living and self-storage businesses. Irene holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Oregon State University, complemented by a B.A. in American Studies and a prior MFA in Creative Writing - Poetry.
