Rita Banerjee

Author, Echo In Four Beats at Finishing Line Press

Rita Banerjee is an accomplished academic and writer currently serving as the Assistant Professor of Creative Writing and Director of the MFA Program for Writers at Warren Wilson College. Banerjee holds an extensive editorial role as Senior Editor for South Asian Avant-Garde and has been the Executive Creative Director at Cambridge Writers' Workshop, Inc. since 2008. Banerjee's published works include notable poetry collections such as "Echo in Four Beats," "Cracklers at Night," and the novella "A Night with Kali." With a solid background in creative writing education, Banerjee has held various teaching positions, including at Long Island University and Vermont College of Fine Arts, alongside a significant role as an Associate Scholar of Comparative Literature at Harvard University. Banerjee earned a PhD in Comparative Literature from Harvard University and holds both an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Washington and a BA in English Honors from Rutgers University.
