Ruben vander Stockt

Ruben Vander Stockt has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and companies. Ruben is currently the Director of Community - EMEA at FinOps Foundation, where they have been since January 2023. Additionally, they are a Founder at across.cloud since October 2021.

Previously, Ruben worked at Amazon Web Services (AWS) as a Sr. BDM Cloud Finance Management - FinOps SME from April 2022 to December 2022. Prior to that, they were the Director Solutions Engineering - EMEA at Showpad from May 2019 to October 2021, where they managed a team of 10 people and focused on supporting deal cycles and other activities.

Ruben also has experience at Google as a Customer Engineer - Google Cloud from October 2011 to April 2019, where they worked closely with global enterprises and provided technical enablement and solution architecture using Google Cloud technology.

Before Google, Ruben worked at Adapti as a Cloud Consultant from January 2010 to October 2011, leading the Google Workspace practice and handling business development and technical roll-out. Ruben also worked at Insight Technology Solutions as a Business Development Manager from September 2007 to November 2009, supporting sales with product presentations and proposals.

Prior to that, Ruben was a Business Consultant Professional Services at PC-Ware from January 2006 to August 2007, responsible for sales support of Software Asset Management solutions. Ruben started their career as an Account Manager at ABSI NV from September 2003 to January 2006.

Ruben Vander Stockt obtained a Bachelor's degree in Informatics from Erasmushogeschool Brussel, where they studied from 2000 to 2003. In addition to their degree, they have acquired multiple certifications, including being a FinOps Certified Professional and a Certified FinOps Trainer from the FinOps Foundation. Ruben also holds a certification as a Professional Cloud Architect from Google Cloud and is a FOCP: FinOps Certified Practitioner from The Linux Foundation. Ruben obtained these certifications in various years, with the most recent being in 2022, 2021, and 2021.
