Susan Upshaw

Susan Upshaw has extensive experience in the banking industry. Susan started their career as a Loan Officer and Administrative Assistant at Bank of Essex in 1999. Susan then became a Branch Manager and Loan Officer, where they managed staff, handled daily operations, and originated loans. In 2006, they joined Colonial Farm Credit as a Relationship Manager, where they focused on loan origination and underwriting for commercial, agricultural, and consumer clients. Susan also conducted financial analysis and made sales calls. In 2018, they became an Assistant Vice President at Union Bank & Trust, specializing in business banking relationships. Most recently, in 2019, they joined First Bank and Trust Company as a Vice President, focusing on agricultural and commercial lending.

Susan Upshaw has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics-Computer Science, obtained from Sweet Briar College in the years 1995 to 1999. Prior to that, they attended Middlesex High School from 1988 to 1997. Susan also completed the Leadership Development Program from FCC Services in 2014, as well as a Lifestyle Lender program from Farm Credit University in 2007. Additionally, they hold a certification as a Notary Public for the Commonwealth of Virginia.
