Adam Schuster has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Adam started their career as a Financial Officer at MIRACLE Technical Institute of Malawi, where they were responsible for overseeing the finances and updating reporting systems. Adam then worked as a Sales/Customer Service Specialist at REI, where they quickly took on additional responsibilities in warehouse and customer service departments.
Following that, Adam joined APL as a Transportation Coordinator, overseeing all truck movements and equipment repositions in multiple states and Mexico. Adam then joined Evidence Action as a Program Manager, leading the daily operations and expansion of the Dispensers for Safe Water program in Uganda.
In 2015, Adam joined First Descents as a Finance and Operations Manager, responsible for financial reporting, HR policies, administrative processes, and database management. Adam then became the Director of Finance and Operations, leading the creation of budgets and performance plans, achieving HIPAA compliance, and revamping programmatic policies.
Adam also played a crucial role in the establishment of Stoke Broker, a for-profit subsidiary of First Descents. Adam served as the Chief Operating Officer and later as the Head of Finance and Administration, contributing to the creation of impactful adventures.
Throughout their career, Adam has showcased their proficiency in finance, operations, budgeting, and leadership positions.
Adam Schuster attended the University of Dayton from 2003 to 2007, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) in the field of Operations Management. In addition to their degree, they obtained certifications in Mental Health First Aid from Mental Health First Aid Colorado in September 2018 and Risk Management for Administrators from NOLS in September 2017.
