Director, Communications and HR at First Due

Rachael Paul-Heinz has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Rachael currently serves as the Director of Communications and HR at First Due since May 2021. Prior to that, from June 2019 to May 2021, they worked as the Communications Manager at AAIS, where they played a key role in improving social media performance and developing marketing communications activities.

From April 2017 to June 2019, Rachael worked at MetLife as a Senior Proposal Specialist, managing complex RFPs and leading project teams. In their subsequent role as Communications Lead at MetLife from December 2013 to April 2017, they built a strategic B2B and B2C communications program and led various employee engagement initiatives.

Earlier in their career, Rachael worked as the Manager of Employee Communications at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago in 2013, where they developed internal communications strategies and managed web content and social media.

From June 2011 to January 2013, they served as the Employee Communications Manager at kCura, a software company, where they were responsible for creating and executing an employee communications and engagement system.

Rachael started their career at Caterpillar Inc. in 2005, where they held various roles including 6 Sigma BlackBelt/Project Manager, Lead Division Communicator, and Communication Specialist. Rachael'skey projects at Caterpillar involved leading Lean/6 Sigma initiatives and supporting the establishment of a hydraulic excavator facility in Victoria, TX.

Throughout their career, Rachael has demonstrated expertise in communications, marketing strategy, social media management, project management, employee engagement, and process improvement.

Rachael Paul-Heinz began their education at Bradley University in 2002 and completed their Bachelor's degree in Communications in 2005. Following this, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) with a focus on Human Resources emphasis at North Central College, from 2008 to 2011. Lastly, Rachael attended the University of Wisconsin-Stout and earned a Master of Science in Technical and Professional Communication between 2013 and 2015.
