Ryan Gorkhalee

Ryan Gorkhalee has a diverse work experience starting in 2012 as an intern at the FDA, where they assisted with various tasks related to FDA paperwork and computer setup. In 2014, they worked as a summer intern in the Savings and Membership Department at Navy Federal Credit Union, answering calls and processing member information. Later in 2014, they worked as an intern in the Mortgage Default/Collections Department at Navy Federal Credit Union, where they handled incoming mail, documented checks, and performed year-end procedures.

From 2015 to 2020, Ryan worked at Virginia Tech in different roles. Ryan began as a Tier II Consultant for University Computing Support, providing technical support to affiliates and preparing university computers for auction. Later, they became an IT Specialist in the Network and Infrastructure Services department, responsible for end-user support and maintenance of network equipment. Finally, they served as the Student Programs Manager, overseeing student programs at Virginia Tech.

In 2020, Ryan joined First Information Technology Services, Inc as an Information Security Consultant, specializing in FedRAMP. Ryan was promoted to Senior Information Security Consultant in 2023.

Ryan Gorkhalee completed their education at Virginia Tech, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Economics from 2012 to 2016. Ryan further pursued their studies at Virginia Tech and obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Information Technology from 2017 to 2020. Prior to their college education, Ryan attended South Lakes High School from 2008 to 2012. In addition to their academic achievements, Ryan has acquired various certifications, including the Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute in May 2023, the Certified CSF Practitioner from HITRUST in September 2022, the Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) from (ISC)² in October 2021, the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)² in April 2021, the CompTIA Network+ in July 2019, the ITIL Foundation Level certification in May 2018, the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in February 2023, the Certified CMMI Associate from ISACA in April 2022, and the CompTIA A+ in February 2017.
