Salvatore Salamone

Salvatore Salamone has a strong background in the biomedical industry. Salvatore started their career at Roche Diagnostics in 1985 and held the position of Vice President of R&D for over 16 years. In 2001, they joined OraSure Technologies as the Senior Vice President. After leaving OraSure Technologies in 2003, Salamone became the President and CEO of Saladax Biomedical in 2004. Currently, they hold the role of Director at First Light Diagnostics since 2015.

Salvatore Salamone has a strong background in education, particularly in the field of chemistry. In 1972, they attended Villanova University and obtained their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Chemistry in 1976. Following this, they pursued higher studies at Rutgers University - Newark from 1976 to 1981, where they achieved both their Master of Science (MS) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees in Chemistry.

Continuing their academic journey, Salvatore Salamone then became a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Oxford, specializing in Bioorganic studies from 1981 to 1983. This experience at the esteemed institution enhanced their expertise in the field.
