Kurt Fischer

Director, Human Centered Design at First Mode

Kurt Fischer has extensive work experience in the field of design. Kurt is currently the Director of Human Centered Design at First Mode, where they have been working since 2022. Prior to this role, they held the position of Principal Industrial Designer at First Mode from 2020 to 2022. Before joining First Mode, Kurt worked as an Innovation Consultant at Aquavetic Labs starting in 2020. From 2015 to 2020, they served as the Director of ID/UX at VICIS, Inc. Kurt also has experience working at Philips Design as a Sr. Consultant in Product Design from 2001 to 2015, and as a Product Designer from 2000 to 2004. Earlier in their career, they worked at UTILITY as a Designer/Design Engineer from 1998 to 2000, and at TEAGUE as a Jr. Designer from 1997 to 1998.

Kurt Fischer earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Industrial and Product Design from Western Washington University from 1994 to 1996. Before that, they pursued an Associate of Science (AS) degree in General/Art at North Seattle College from 1992 to 1994. Prior to that, they studied Industrial Design Technology at The Art Institutes from 1990 to 1992. Kurt Fischer completed their high school education at Ingraham High School from 1984 to 1988.
