David Mattingly

David Mattingly has extensive experience in the manufacturing and automation industry. David is currently the Head of Module Operations at First Solar, a position they have held since 2023. Prior to that, they worked at JENOPTIK Smart Manufacturing as the Director of Automation Operations and the Director of Program Management. Before that, they were the Director of Business Development at Production Modeling Corporation, where they were responsible for developing new business opportunities and improving vehicle quality at Tesla Motors.

From 2016 to 2019, Mattingly worked as the Director of Program Management at Valiant Machine and Tool, where they managed the body welding business unit and oversaw projects for major automobile manufacturers such as Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and General Motors.

Before that, they served as the GM Global Account Executive at Comau, where they managed a strategic partnership with General Motors and traveled globally to build relationships and gain market share. David also developed and delivered annual reports on the GM business plan to senior leadership.

Mattingly has also held roles as Manufacturing Consultant at Dynamotive Engineering, Director of Vehicle Manufacturing at Tesla Motors, and Area Manager at Chrysler Corporation. David has experience in project management, equipment design and installation, budgeting, and maintenance.

Throughout their career, Mattingly has demonstrated their ability to lead and develop successful manufacturing processes, establish strong partnerships with major clients, and drive business growth.

David Mattingly studied at Central Michigan University, where they earned both their Bachelor of Applied Arts in Administration with a concentration in Industrial Administration in 2001 and their MSA (Master of Science in Administration) degree in 2004.
