Wade Ross is currently serving as a Wildfire Modeler at First Street since August 2024. Prior to this role, Wade was a Remote Sensing Scientist at Tall Timbers Research Station & Land Conservancy from June 2020 to August 2024, leading projects focused on reducing wildfire impacts on natural resources. Wade's academic journey includes a Postdoctoral Research Associate position at New Mexico State University from July 2017 to June 2020, co-investigating vegetation structure and biomass estimates through NASA's ICESat-2 initiative. At the University of Florida, Wade earned a PhD while serving as a Graduate Research Assistant and Instructor, focusing on carbon storage in forests and developing geospatial modeling frameworks. Wade also has experience from roles as a College Intern at BCI Engineers and Scientists and the St. Johns River Water Management District, contributing to ecological research and water quality monitoring. Wade holds a BS in Agricultural Operations Management and a PhD in Soil, Water, and Ecosystem Sciences from the University of Florida.
