Jaebon Hwang

Jaebon Hwang has a diverse background in music ministry and organ playing. Starting in 2010, they served as an Organ Scholar and later as an Assistant Organist at the First Congregational Church of Los Angeles until February 2014. From February 2014 to July 2018, Jaebon Hwang was an Organist at the Westwood United Methodist Church. Jaebon then joined the First United Methodist Church of San Diego in August 2018 as an Associate Director of Music/Organist until August 2021. Currently, since September 2021, Jaebon Hwang holds the position of Director of Music Ministries & Organist at the First United Methodist Church San Diego.

Jaebon Hwang received their Bachelor of Music degree in Music Composition from Korea National University of Arts in 2004. Jaebon then completed a Master of Arts degree in Scoring for Film & Multimedia at New York University in 2007. From 2012 to 2014, they earned a Graduate Certificate in Performance with a focus on Organ Performance from the University of Southern California. Finally, from 2014 to 2019, they pursued a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Organ Performance at the same university.
