Christoph Sawade has a long and varied work experience. In 2006, they began as a Student Employee at Siemens AG. In 2007, they became a Research Assistant at the Max Planck Institute for Computer Science, where they researched transfer learning in the context of target advertising and was the lead developer of a library for online targeting algorithms for nugg. ad. From 2009 to 2013, they worked at the University of Potsdam, first as a Postdoctoral Researcher and then as a Research Associate, where they developed and evaluated methods to estimate the performance of predictive models as accurately as possible on a fixed labeling budget and was the lead developer of the core technology for nugg. ad. From 2013 to 2019, they worked at SoundCloud, first as a Data Science Lead and then as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer. In 2021, they became an Advisor at Kaizo. Finally, in 2022, they became the Head of Engineering, Data & ML at Fit Analytics, a Snap Inc. company.
Christoph Sawade obtained their Abitur from Alexander-von-Humboldt Oberschule from 1996 to 2003. Christoph then went on to pursue a Master's degree in Computer Science from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin from 2004 to 2009. After that, they received their PhD in Machine Learning from the University of Potsdam from 2009 to 2013.
