Ben Hyrman

Ben Hyrman has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Ben'smost recent role is a Staff Backend Engineer at Fitogram, which they started in January 2023. Before that, they worked as a Senior Backend Engineer at Fitogram from April to December 2022.

Prior to their time at Fitogram, Ben worked at rezStream as a Senior Software Developer. Ben rejoined the company in January 2019 and left in March 2022. During this period, their focus was on adding new features and improving delivery velocity for AngularJS, C#, Azure SQL, RavenDB, and Azure Service Bus-based projects deployed on Azure.

From August to December 2018, Ben worked at Allianz as a Senior Developer - Global Digital Factory. Ben assisted teams across different business units with implementing Elasticsearch-backed Point of Interest search component, as well as prototyping services for the European Direct business platform.

Before Allianz, Ben worked at eVision Industry Software from January 2018 to July 2018. Ben served as a Senior Team Lead for the Shift Vision and Dynamic Barrier Management teams. Ben was responsible for line management, coaching, evaluations, and raises. Ben also played a crucial role in managing risks and facilitating design discussions for the product life cycle.

Ben also had previous experience at RezStream, where they worked from May 2010 to October 2016 as a Senior Developer. During this time, they drove the architecture and design for a cloud-based property management system and online booking engine using AngularJS, C#, Azure SQL, RavenDB, and Azure Service Bus.

Prior to RezStream, Ben worked at ITR as a Developer from June 2009 to April 2010. There, they participated in the development of a server-side cross-platform web-based content delivery service and helped deliver a desktop application framework driven by metadata.

Before ITR, they worked at Allianz Life from September 2005 to February 2009 as a Senior Capability Architect. Ben focused on implementing a Service Oriented Architecture and played a key role in the roll-out of the enterprise-wide architecture.

Ben also has experience as a Program Architect at Best Buy from June 2000 to June 2004. During this time, they oversaw and owned the system and integration architecture for a multi-million dollar program focused on redesigning and implementing e-commerce systems.

Ben'searly work experience includes being a Consultant at Born Information Services from January 1999 to April 2000 and a Student Analyst at Northern Michigan University from September 1996 to December 1999.

Ben Hyrman attended Northern Michigan University from 1994 to 1998. During this time, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Systems.
