Claire Bennett is an experienced intellectual property and technology lawyer who has spent over 15 years in professional practice. Claire has worked with clients across a range of industries, including technology, telecoms & IT, medical devices & life sciences, manufacturing & engineering, aviation, financial services, food & beverage, music & publishing. Bennett has also led teams in high profile cases that have pushed the legal boundaries and set legal precedent.

Bennett currently serves as the General Counsel at Five. Prior to this, they were a Partner at DLA Piper from January 2008 to August 2018. In this role, they provided pragmatic commercially-orientated advice to clients on contentious and commercial IP matters. Bennett also assisted clients at all stages of their life cycle, including negotiating and drafting IP transfer, licensing and other IP-related agreements; advising on market entry and product launches; carrying out freedom to operate analyses; advising on IP capture & strategy; conducting IP audits & due diligence; advising on contractual rights and exposure; and extracting value out of IP portfolios.

Claire Bennett has a Master of Science in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge. Claire specialized in physics during their time at university.
