Medical Director, Mental Health Unit at Flagler Health

Heather Luing, M.D. has a diverse work experience in the medical field. Heather started their career as a Psychiatrist-Locums at Staff Care in 2007 and later pursued their Psychiatry Residency and Fellowship at the University of Florida, where they worked from 2003 to 2008. Heather then served as Medical Director at The Centers from 2010 to 2014, with a role as Chief Medical Officer from 2012 to 2014. From 2013 to 2015, Dr. Luing worked as Medical Director at The Recovery Village. In 2016, they joined Flagler Hospital as the Medical Director of the Mental Health Unit. Currently, since 2017, they are the Medical Director at Florida Center for TMS, a private practice focused on Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation and other emerging therapies for treatment-resistant depression.

Heather Luing, M.D. obtained their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Microbiology and Immunology from Florida Atlantic University from 1995 to 1999. Heather then pursued their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree at the University of Florida from 1999 to 2003. In terms of additional certifications, Dr. Luing is board certified in addiction medicine by the American Board of Addiction Medicine (ABAM) since 2015. Heather also holds certifications in Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation by Neurostar and board certifications in Forensic Psychiatry and Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Inc.
