Doug Clendenning is a seasoned food industry executive with over 35 years of experience in the consumer packaged goods space, and with a particular emphasis on the Natural and Organic space.
Mr. Clendenning began his career as a sales representative for DB Berelson Company, a leading supplier of frozen food products to major retailers. In that capacity, he became an innovator in the frozen food space and was an early adopter of natural and organic products. In 1993, he acquired a controlling stake in the business and renamed it DBB Marketing, Inc. As the president and CEO of DBB, he expanded the company’s private label reach, continuing a focus on representing “better for you” frozen/dry and dairy vendors with key customers across the country.
In 2014, DBB was acquired by Flagship Food Group, and Mr. Clendenning was promoted to President of the company‘s Natural and Organics business. Today, the business is run by Doug’s son, Patrick Clendening. Mr. Clendenning also serves on the board of Flagship helping guide strategic decisions around operations/marketing and acquisitions.
