Daniel Melendez

Daniel Melendez has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Daniel currently works as a System Engineer at Flagship Networks Inc., where they are involved in Azure hybrid deployments, full cloud migration to Azure, and implementation of Azure conditional access policies and Duo security.

Prior to their current role, Daniel worked as a System Administrator at eScholar from July 2017 to October 2021. Daniel was responsible for managing and maintaining the system infrastructure during their tenure.

Before that, Daniel served as a Jr. Security Analyst at BlackStratus from June 2016 to February 2017. Daniel gained experience in analyzing and ensuring the security of the company's systems.

Daniel also worked at Belimo from April 2014 to June 2016 as an IT Support Representative, assisting in resolving IT-related issues within the organization.

Additionally, they held the position of P.C. Specialist at Nyack Hospital from July 2009 to April 2014. In this role, Daniel was responsible for implementing, maintaining, and upgrading computer hardware, software, and network components. Daniel Melendez has a diverse education history in the field of cyber security. Daniel obtained their Master's degree in Cyber Security from Mercy College, where they studied Computer Science, from 2011 to 2012. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor's degree in Cyber Security at the same institution, Mercy College, from 2009 to 2011. Before pursuing higher education, Daniel earned an Associate of Applied Science degree in Computer Networking from Rockland Community College from 2006 to 2008.

In addition to their formal education, Daniel has also obtained several certifications in the field. Daniel received the Microsoft 365 certification from Microsoft in February 2023. In November 2011, they obtained the MCPS: Microsoft Certified Professional certification from Microsoft. In December 2010, they earned the Security+ certification from CompTIA. Daniel also obtained the CNS: Certified Network Security Specialist certification from Rockland Community College in May 2010. Furthermore, they have achieved several certifications from Fortinet, including the Fortinet Network Security Expert Level 1: Certified Associate, the Fortinet Network Security Expert Level 2: Certified Associate, and the Fortinet Network Security Expert Level 3: Certified Associate in December 2021. Lastly, they obtained the CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) certification from ISC2 in January 2014.
