Sanjay Singh

Sanjay Singh has over 19 years of work experience in the education field. Sanjay is currently working as the Senior Director of District Support at Flamboyan Foundation, where they oversee the implementation of the Flamboyan National Fellowship. In this role, they manage district-level teams and facilitates listening sessions with families and the community to improve family engagement practices. Sanjay also provides coaching and support to Graduated Partner schools.

Prior to joining Flamboyan Foundation, Sanjay served as the Interim Principal at Mary McLeod Bethune Day Academy PCS, where they were responsible for the academic program and ensuring compliance with performance guidelines. Sanjay also worked as the Assistant Principal and IB Coordinator at the same school.

Before that, Sanjay was the Director of Teacher Leadership at Potomac Lighthouse Academy, where they set the vision and goals for the school and supported teacher development. Sanjay also held the position of Academic Director at Thurgood Marshall Academy, where they led academic and student affairs and implemented benchmark assessments.

Sanjay began their career as a 5th grade teacher in northern Massachusetts and later worked as an Instructional Coach and Math Professional Developer at DCPS. Throughout their career, they have demonstrated a strong commitment to improving education outcomes and supporting teachers and students.

Sanjay Singh completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology at the University of Maryland from 1997 to 2001. Following this, they pursued a Master of Arts degree in Teaching at Trinity Washington University, which they completed from 2003 to 2007. Later on, Sanjay acquired a Master of Education degree in Administration from Teachers College, Columbia University, attending from 2009 to 2010.

In addition to their formal education, Sanjay Singh also obtained various certifications. In July 2020, they became a Google Certified Educator Level 1. Sanjay also earned an Administrative Services Credential from the DC State Board of Education in April 2020. Significantly, Sanjay undertook several International Baccalaureate (IB) training courses, including "IB Category 1: Implementing the MYP: Head of Schools/IB Coordinators" in December 2019 and "IB PYP Category 3: Sustaining and Growing the PYP in Your School" in June 2018. It should be noted that the obtained month and year for the certification "IB Category 1: Making the PYP Happen for Building Leaders" are unavailable.
