Michael Tu has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade in various companies and roles. Michael worked as a Director of Engineering at UpdatePromise starting from June 2021. Before that, they served as a Principal Software Engineer at the same company, from October 2020 to June 2021. Prior to these roles, Michael worked as a Software Engineer at UpdatePromise, focusing on Amazon Web Services and various related technologies until October 2020.
Before joining UpdatePromise, Michael worked at Disney ABC Television Group as a Web Developer, where they worked on ABC TV show sites and handled sponsorships and the Dancing With The Stars voting system from September 2012 to November 2013.
Their earlier experiences include working as a System Developer at OpenWebster from March 2009 to August 2011, and as a Junior Developer at Exckx Media Group in 2010. Michael also served as a Server Administrator at XeroHost from June 2005 to October 2006, and as the Head of operations for free hosting at InitialHost from August 2003 to July 2005, where they trained all staff members.
Michael Tu attended Irvine Valley College from 2008 to 2010, where they studied Computer Science. Prior to that, they completed their high school education at Irvine High School from 2004 to 2008. In addition to their formal education, Michael has obtained certifications such as the Zend Certified PHP Engineer from Zend Technologies in April 2014, and the Certified Scrum Master from ScrumAlliance in January 2013.
