Anand Lakshminarayanan is the SVP, Shopping Experiences & Commerce Cloud at FlipKart. Prior to joining FlipKart, they were with eBay Inc for just over a year, where they were the Group Product Manager. Their team was responsible for building the next generation Traffic Platform to drive user traffic to eBay. The platform had to be able to match millions of users each day to the available eBay inventory of promotions and marketing messages, in order to provide highly personalized offers & messages - which would in turn increase engagement, visits to site, conversion and revenue.

In order to achieve "Personalization at scale", Lakshminarayanan's team built a Targeting Engine which uses Machine Learning to digest peta bytes of user data (such as transactions, browsing history etc). and make meaningful predictions about user interests. They also created a Content Management System that can host content and metadata for hundreds of campaigns, provide templates, abstract 3rd party data sources and provide near real-time content selection. In addition, they developed channel notification systems that render & deliver near real-time content across different channels like OnSite, Email, Social, Mobile. Finally, they also leveraged the A-B testing platform at eBay to perform regular experiments and improve customer experience, and bank revenue.

Anand Lakshminarayanan has a MBA from the University of Washington - Michael G. Foster School of Business, a Master of Science in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology, a Master of Science in Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor of Technology in Civil Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.

Their manager is Mayur Datar, Chief Data Scientist.
