Derek Southall

Derek Southall has a long and varied career in corporate finance and technology. Derek began their career as a Trainee Solicitor at DLA Piper in 1990, before moving on to become a Corporate Finance Lawyer at Gowling WLG in 1994. Derek then held the role of Head of Strategic Development and later Head of Innovation and Digital at Gowling WLG, before becoming Partner and Head of Innovation and Digital in 2017. In the same year, they also joined the Advisory Board of KOMPAS Travel. In 2018, they were appointed Founding Director of The Intuity Alliance and Advisory Board Member of the Institute for Global Innovation. In 2017, they founded and became CEO of Hyperscale Group. In 2020, they co-founded The Professional Alternative and in 2021, they were appointed Non Executive Director of Fliplet. Derek has also been Chairman and Founder Member of LITIG since 2003.

Derek Southall attended the University of Birmingham from 1986 to 1989 and obtained an LLB Hons in Law.
